Class Reference Information

Classes are currently held at and sponsored by the Westwood Council on Aging Located at 60 Nahatan Street, Westwood MA 02090.  Further information is available on their website. Weekly classes in watercolor painting are held on Tuesdays at 1 PM, Thursdays at 10 AM and Fridays at 10 AM.  A weekly class in drawing is held on Tuesdays at 10 AM.

Recommended Drawing Paper: size:  9”x 12”   

Strathmore Drawing paper, 80lb  or Strathmore Mixed Media paper, 184 lb

Set of Graphite Pencils. 

(pencil set should include a selection of pencils, that include 4H, HB, 4B hardnesses)

Recommended Pencil brand: Staedtler Mars Lumigraph, pencil set, or similar.

White Polymer eraser: Staedtler Mars Plastic recommended or similar  

Kneaded eraser. (recommended: Faber-Castell brand)

Blending stumps (4-6 various sizes of compressed paper blenders) 

Commonly sold with a sandpaper block for cleaning/shaping, any brand.

Small soft brush (something like an inexpensive, small watercolor style brush)

(used for brushing eraser crumbs from your paper during drawing)

*Masking Fluid: recommended brand, Pebeo Easy Peel, 45 mL 

*Graphite Paper: (either brand): MYARTSCAPE or X-Press IT. Must be Wax Free/Erasable 

*Adhesive eraser: iCraft (removes masking fluid) 

*Kneaded Eraser: recommended brand: Farber-Castell  

*Artist Tape: recommended brand: TSSART (0.4 inch)
